North Carolina
artist/instructor Holly Soukup has explored art all her life, from the moment
she grasped her first crayon, through her college years in pursuit of an art
degree,
and well beyond. Although seasons in her life continue to change, her objective
remains the same, to convey her ideas and subjects in a distinctive manner.
Her approach to art is rather straightforward. She paints what speaks to her
soul, whether it’s rolling hillsides and the rhythmic patterns they form, a
captured facial
expression, or beauty found in ordinary things. Holly’s artistic styles vary
depending upon the subject matter and the mood she hopes to convey. She
purposefully
explores several media to keep her creative process invigorated. As of late,
her media of choice have been oil pastels and oil paints. Her fearless use of
vibrant
colors indicates that she is a colorist at heart.
Holly has been honored to
receive awards in various juried international, national and local exhibitions.
