I have loved to paint since childhood, and have found time to pursue it since 1968. I originally studied art with various local artists, and since then have learned also on my own.
Originally an oil painter, three years ago I started working with soft
pastels. During the past year I have discovered oil pastels. I participated in
an oil pastel workshop with Luba Sterlikova,
and learned about some basics of
using this medium. I am excited by the simplicity of materials needed and the
brilliance of the colors.
I have been fortunate to receive many first place and popular choice awards,
best-in-show, and the Grumbacher Award for best use of the oils medium.
Since
1968, over 1,000 of my paintings have found homes both in the U. S. and abroad.
I work plein air in my Potomac MD area, exhibit in local art shows and
galleries, and give an annual show of my recent work every December at my home
studio. This
December was my 35
