Jodi Colella
Certain visuals create moments of feeling and knowing in a ‘place’ deep inside
where expression exceeds language. Like the mystery of deep shadows in the
forest; the sense of time and place prompted by broad horizons; or the mood of
dappled light.
These instances exist in perception beyond the fact of their real existence.
Each identifies with an abstract emotional location within the subconscious
mind; within our perceptions of self.
My aim is to capture these ‘places’ as a happening in time. A pause.
A point of awareness and reflection.
To convey a universal connection that can be realized by each viewer exercising
his or her own personal geography.
To use the landscape as an object of expression for what we know, but is more
than we are able to say.
