Art for me is something I always remember doing. Growing up in
Chicago gave me the advantage of
having art taught in my grade school and high school, both of which
were fortunate to have beautiful
Chicago Mural art to inspire. Additionally, I was sent to the Art
Institute of Chicago for free, further
studying with Mr. Osborne in Fullerton Hall. He lectured weekly, gave
slide presentations of famous
painters and assignments to be done at home and critiqued by him.
The French Impressionists are my favorite artists. I especially admire
the design and color in the
works of Gauguin and Van Gogh. In college I drew and painted from
models, still life etc. Now, I
mainly work with my own photographs for subject matter. My
concentration in art has been personal
and not commercial.
