The Pastel Journal Magazine will be including Oil Pastel groups in their Society Listings even though they don't allow oil pastels in their competitions. It’s a start…

The OPS will have a table at the biennial art materials show this October in suburban Chicago.

Good’s of Evanston (www.goodsofevanston.com), a local art supply store, is sponsoring “Art Alive ’05 –Art Materials Exposition and Market”.

There will be over 40 art materials manufacturers (including Savoir-Faire/Sennelier US distributor and Holbein), experts available to answer questions, product demonstrations at every table, many art societies and panel discussions. One of the panel discussions will be by gallery owners and an art critic.

Admission and parking are free.

So if you are in the area, plan on stopping by.

WHEN:  October 23, 2005,  Hours 10am-4pm
WHERE:  Nichols School, 800 Greenleaf St., Evanston
(Two blocks north of Main St. on the corner of Sherman and Greenleaf)

  • Joan Crice entered oil pastels at the Klickitat County Fair in Washington State, USA. One of her paintings took Advanced Division Champion.
