Sam Hoppe
Sam Hoppe studied drawing, design, color theory and photography at Miami-Dade Community College, oils and pastels at The Art Institute in Miami, watercolors from a private teacher in Miami and colored pencil techniques at The Villages Lifelong Learning College. She recently discovered oil pastels after working with colored pencil for the past nine years.
Sam is impressed by the vibrant, exciting effects she is able to achieve with oil pastels. Portraits and still lifes had been her choice of subject but now her interest has changed to florals in oil pastels, especially roses.
As a resident of The Villages, a retirement community in Central Florida, she has many opportunities to show and sell her artwork. She is a member of The Visual Arts Association and The Villages Art League. Sam has received many awards in local shows.
